Implants

The replacement of missing teeth is now possible using titanium implants fitted into the bone. The final porcelain crown fitted onto the implant foundation gives an excellent aesthetic restoration. This highly effective treatment avoids the need to cut other teeth when restoring a gap. Implants are placed by a simple  surgical procedure without the need to involve other teeth. Single teeth can be replaced  in  isolation, or multiple teeth can be inserted. Implants can also be used to stabilise dentures. Sedation is available for this treatment if needed.

Simon Allum provides a referral service for implant work in the region. His particlar interest in this field has led him to undertake training both at home and abroad. Where implant work is being considered  in house case discussion  and referral complete the range of treatments available at the practice.

The Association of Dental Implantology promotes this particular discipline in dentistry. Their protocols form a sound as a basis for  treatment procedures. They are an active body organising many meetings and peer review sessions..
